Rita Mount was born in Montreal in 1885. Her cousin was Georges Delfosse son of Mélaine Delfausse and Josephine Mount, 16 years older than her. He started at the National Institute of Fine Arts with Joseph Chabert and then at the Art Association of Montreal1 with William Brymner and Edmond Dyonnet.
